Inserting and Formatting Figures

OnStyle provides tools for inserting figures with proper titles and applying figure-related styles. These features ensure figures follow the formatting rules defined in the active DocConfig. Available in both Essential and Professional editions.

  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the figure.
  2. On the OnStyle Ribbon, go to Tools > Figures group.
  3. Click Create Figure.
  4. In the dialog, choose whether to insert an image from the Clipboard or from a File.
  5. (Optional) Enter a Figure Title in the provided field. OnStyle inserts it with automatic numbering and the caption style from the assigned DocConfig.
  6. (Optional) Select the Footer checkbox to include the footer part defined in the DocConfig.
  7. Confirm by clicking Insert. OnStyle inserts the figure placeholder with the selected options and applies all styles from the DocConfig.
  1. Place the cursor above or below the figure, as required.
  2. On the OnStyle Ribbon, go to Tools > Figures group.
  3. Click Insert Figure Title.
  4. In the dialog, specify the Label Text (for example, Figure) and select the Label Style. Click Insert.
  5. OnStyle inserts a properly numbered title in the style defined by the DocConfig (for example, “Figure 1: Title”).

The following predefined styles are available in the Figures group:

  • Figure Footer – applies footer text styling for figure notes or references.
  • Figure Placeholder – inserts a formatted placeholder when an image is not yet available.
  • Figure Caption – applies the caption style and numbering rules defined in the DocConfig.
